Paid Post Feature Options:

1. Sidebar Cover Feature:
Would you like your book cover’s image to be featured in the Right Sidebar of the featured pages of this site? Your book’s cover image would be linked to its purchase page on Amazon or other online retailer of your choice. I will use an Amazon Affiliate link from my site for your book/s, which means I will earn a few cents on the dollar if someone clicks through and buys your book from my site. This does not affect your sales royalties in any way, however. The linked cover image would be shown for two weeks, above the fold, on all dynamic/featured pages of the site (ie. pages with articles, posts, etc.), usually from a Monday to a Sunday. (Covers are shown on all pages of this site.) I only feature two to three books at a time in the right sidebar, so as not to clutter the page. This also helps your book to stand out more.

How to purchase this feature: Use the contact form on this blog to send me any questions you may have before purchasing if you need clarification, or, if you’re ready, click on this link to pay the one-time fee through Paypal: paypal.me/shanagorian
You may then use the contact form on this site to send me information about your book. I will be in touch by email to request your book’s details and images. Once I receive your book cover image or make arrangements to screen shot it from your web site, I will schedule your sidebar feature.
Fee: $5

*Traditionally, independently, and self-published books of professional quality are equally welcomed. However, Shana Gorian, the owner of this blog, reserves the right to refuse, without explanation, any book or book cover, at her sole discretion. If refused, the purchaser will receive a full refund of any fees paid.

2. Featured Book Post:
Would you like to run a featured post on Rosco’s Reading Room about your new release or current title? See these posts one and two and three for examples of a Featured Book Post. Featured Book Posts are short posts containing a book blurb, purchase link, a short author bio, a quote from one of your reviews, and even an excerpt from the book.

This type of post also contains your book’s cover image and an interior page or two-page spread. These features are for Children’s and Middle Grade books only (no Young Adult). Fiction and non-fiction. You write what you would like in the post yourself and send me the book cover images and your head shot. I edit it as I see fit and add quotes from the text or review quotes as well as an introduction for the page. I will use an Amazon Affiliate link from my site for your book/s, which means I will earn a few cents on the dollar if someone clicks through and buys your book from my site. This does not affect your sales royalties in any way, however. I post it on WordPress and then share it on my social media platforms, having a combined reach of approximately 6,000 followers, in addition to the blog’s followers, for one week. (I share these posts on Twitter repeatedly, Facebook, Pinterest, Google+, Goodreads, and LinkedIn.) The post stays on my blog indefinitely. I highly encourage you to share the post with your social media and/or email list as well.

I only post a maximum of eight Book Features per month, so once placed on my schedule, your book feature might not be posted for several months. I do this so that I don’t overwhelm my readers with this type of post.

How to purchase this feature: Use the contact form on this blog to send me any questions you may have before purchasing if you need clarification, or, if you’re ready, click on this link to pay the one-time fee through Paypal: paypal.me/shanagorian
You may then use the contact form on this site to send me the information for your book. I will be in touch by email to request your book’s details and images. You will have as much time as you need to gather materials for me. Once I receive all information and images to complete your feature, I will schedule you on my blog’s calendar.
Fee: $10

*Traditionally, independently, and self-published books of professional quality are equally welcomed. However, Shana Gorian, the owner of this blog, reserves the right to refuse, without explanation, any book or book cover, at her sole discretion. If refused, the purchaser will receive a full refund of any fees paid.

Free Post Feature Options:

1. Guest Post Feature:
Would you like to be featured as a guest blogger on this site? This option is, of course, free of charge because you are providing me with high quality content. I’m currently booking children’s authors and illustrators as well as primary school educators and fellow bloggers to write guest posts, offering their experience on topics related to children’s books (writing, illustrating, editing, cover design, marketing, school visits, author presentations, book signings, blogging, reading, literacy, education, and more). How-To’s, Lists, Advice, Slice-Of-Life, and inspirational author journey essays all do very well on this site, as well. I do not charge for this feature because you are writing the post yourself and that, as I well know, takes a lot of time and effort!

You have several options for this type of guest post. To pitch me your idea, email me using the address ‘author at shana gorian dot com’ and please do one of the following:

1) send me the topic and a short description of what you’d like to write about if it’s something yet unwritten, with a link to your blog or web site, or,

2) send me the title of and link to the piece on your blog if it’s something you’ve posted before on your own web site or blog, or

3) send me a finished piece in a Word doc or Google doc which hasn’t been posted anywhere previously.

(*Note: I cannot accept articles, stories, interviews or other features that have been posted elsewhere, whether online or in print, except for on your own web site or blog, so as not to infringe upon any third party bloggers’ or publishers’ intellectual property rights. By submitting any piece, you are verifying that the article of work has not been published anywhere else, unless it is on your own blog or web site.)

I will read over your piece or your pitch and get back to you with any questions I might have for you, and give you an answer as to whether or not I will be able to use it. You will then have as much time as you need to write it or supply me with it and upon receiving it, I will put your post into my blog’s schedule.

This feature is free to you because you are providing me with content. It is an unpaid post because it is an opportunity for you to promote yourself for free here, by including your author bio, website address, a book cover image and purchase link, some social media or other promotional links, and even a blurb for one of your books, at the bottom of your post or within your article (wherever it makes the most sense). For examples of these types of posts, please see this one and this one. This type of post can be used to showcase you as an authority figure in your particular field and you are free to reblog the post on your site or blog or in any way that helps you to market yourself and your work.

I will use an Amazon Affiliate link from my site for your book/s, which means I will earn a few cents on the dollar if someone clicks through and buys your book from my site. This does not affect your sales royalties in any way, however.

For your article, you may either send me photos to use or I will choose images on my own, using the WordPress Free Photo Library or copyright-free images from Pixabay or a similar provider.

Once I post it, I will send you the link and share it to my social media reach of approximately 6,000. (I share these posts on Twitter repeatedly, Facebook, Pinterest, Google+, Goodreads, and LinkedIn.) The post stays on my blog indefinitely. Any sharing of the post that you do is highly encouraged!

*Traditionally, independently, and self-published authors of professional quality books and articles are equally welcomed. However, Shana Gorian, the owner of this blog, reserves the right to refuse, without explanation, any author, book, book cover, or article at her sole discretion.

2. Featured Author Interview Q&A:
Would you like to be interviewed on Rosco’s Reading Room in a Question & Answer format? I am always looking for children’s authors and illustrators and books to share with my readers. This free option gives you an opportunity to answer questions that allow you to share information about your background, how you’ve gotten to where you are with your writing and/or publishing career, an anecdote to entertain readers, portions of a review about your books, multiple book cover images, your social media links, interior spreads, and/or other such items that grab a reader’s attention. See these posts one and two and three for examples of a Featured Author Q&A. I only post a maximum of four Q&A interviews per month, so once placed on my schedule, your interview might not be posted for several months. I do this so that I don’t overwhelm my readers by posting these too frequently.

I will use an Amazon Affiliate link from my site for your book/s, which means I will earn a few cents on the dollar if someone clicks through and buys your book from my site. This does not affect your sales royalties in any way, however.

In exchange, I only ask that you share the post on your social media channels and with your followers as frequently or widely as possible for at least one week after it’s posted. This helps me to grow my readership just as I am helping you to grow yours.

The Q&A Features are for Children’s and Middle Grade authors only (no Young Adult) and authors to be featured are chosen solely at my discretion, based on a variety of factors including but not limited to variety of subject matter, relevance to my readers, and other factors determining whether or not an author and his or her work is suited to my blog, based on my own subjective criteria.

How it works: This feature is also for both fiction and non-fiction authors. I’ll send you the questions in a Word doc. You write up your answers and email them to me along with the book cover images and your head shot. I edit it as I see fit. I write an intro for you and post it on WordPress and then share it on my social media platforms, having a combined reach of approximately 6,000 followers, in addition to the blog’s followers, for one week. (I share these posts on Twitter repeatedly, Facebook, Pinterest, Google+, Goodreads, and LinkedIn.) The post stays on my blog indefinitely. I highly encourage you to share the post with your social media and/or email list as well.

How to book this feature: Use the contact form on the blog to send me any questions you may have before requesting, if you need clarification, or, use the contact form to send me a little bit of information about you and your book including a web site and purchase link for your book/s. I will be in touch by email with an answer as to whether or not I will be able to feature you, and if so, I’ll send you the Q&A form and request details and images. You will then have as much time as you need to return the completed interview with images to me. Once I receive your completed interview, I will schedule you on the blog’s calendar.

*Traditionally, independently, and self-published authors of professional quality books and articles are equally welcomed. However, Shana Gorian, the owner of this blog, reserves the right to refuse, without explanation, any author, book, book cover, or article at her sole discretion.
