Today I’d like to introduce you to one of the books in the fantasy Unicorn Daze series called The King of Christmas, by author Laura Hesse.
When a visit by the three little pigs the day before lift-off leaves the Reindeer with the Swine Flu, it is up to Jessie and Gus to convince Gus’ father, The Unicorn King, to help save Christmas, especially when doing so means breaking the law.
This short bedtime story is suitable for kids 3 and up. Reading level is 7 – 8. It is written in an easy to read screenplay format and follows the audio book word-for-word. Combining the two is a fun way for kids to learn to read. The story can be read as is or acted out as a Christmas play.
“…A wonderful reminder of the true meaning of Christmas, fun for all ages. I hope that Ms. Hesse continues to write more adventures for Gus and Jesse!” ~Amazon Review

Each of these fantasy stories has a little parable; some are funny and outrageous, while others are thought- provoking. All of them are based on friendship, love, family, and bravery in the face of adversity.
